“The building of Andricville is not a local or republic project but a
wider cultural project, which will remain for all time,” Dodik told
reporters after the opening of Mlada Bosna Street and commercial space
in Andricville.
He noticed that this is the only city in the world that was visited
by people and school groups in the course of its construction, all eager
to see it rise from the ground.
“Andricville will breath new life into Visegrad, which people have already begun leaving,” said Dodik.
He is convinced that not even the conceptual creator of Andricville –
Emir Kusturica – realised at the outset how grandiose a deed this was.
“What we see done so far, is proof for all doubting Thomases that
what was impossible yesterday, now is possible,” stressed Dodik.
Film producer Emir Kusturica related in short what has been built so
far, stressing that an Andricville Institute is to follow, which will
be the third most important and influential institution of the Serbian
people in the territories of the Former Yugoslavia.
“Next year we will build an Academy of Fine Arts and a students’
dormitory, which will have students from throughout the world,” added
Kusturica.
The renowned film maker said that he plans for Andricville to be
officially opened by a premiere of the opera ‘A bridge on the Drina’ in
the new theatre.
“Visegrad and Andricville soon will have all the institutions had by
some of the largest of European cities, a proof of which is that
Visegrad residents watch the latest films as the residents of San
Francisco,” added Kusturica.
He noted the great contribution of Republika Srpska President
Milorad Dodik to the construction of Andricville, recollecting that
Vecernje Novosti has declared this the noblest undertaking of the year.
A Mlada Bosna Street was officially opened in Andricville today,
followed by an M:tel outlet, a branch of Nova Banka, as well as a beer
garden, bakery, gold shop, optician’s shop and a pharmacy.
The opening was also attended by a great many Visegrad residents and
people from surrounding communities as well as officials from
surrounding Municipalities.
