“Republika Srpska has the potential to
go on, and despite the challenges which are not at all easy, it will show
determination,” Dodik told reporters after a solemn academy staged as part of
the celebrations marking the Republic Day and Patron Saint’s Day, January 9.
In Srpska live the people who are
committed to its continued existence, he said.
“Republika Srpska and its authorities
should keep sustaining the political and institutional stability and resolve
the social and economic problems,” said Dodik.
Reiterating that Srpska is an
unavoidable factor in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s decision-making processes, Dodik
said that the leaders would like to see a restoration of the original letter
and spirit of the Dayton Peace Agreement. “It should be a pattern for all our
policies,” he stated.
To celebrate the Republic Day and
Republika Srpska Patron Saint’s Day – Saint Stephen the Archdeacon and
Protomartyr, the Cultural Centre Banski Dvor in Banja Luka hosted a solemn
academy with an array of artistic performances.
The event was attended by President
Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister Aleksandar Džombić, National Assembly Speaker
Igor Radojičić, BiH Presidency Chairman Nebojša Radmanović, Cabinet ministers,
MPs, members of the Srpska Senate, and Serb representatives in the BiH
institutions.
Also present were representatives of
the Serbian Orthodox Church and Serbia’s institutions, Republika Srpska mayors
and heads of municipality. Among the guests were representatives of the
international community and diplomatic corps in BiH, as well as many political
and public figures from Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
