“Even Europe itself, which has
terrible social and economic problems, says that once Croatia joins, it won’t
be taking any other countries under its ‘roof’ for many years. Another issue is
that we will have to adopt the European rules for our own sake in order to have
a better future,” said Dodik.
Dodik told the Telegraf.rs web portal
that he could not see Bosnia and Herzegovina surviving in the future, since it
was a divided society.
”I believe that external political
conditions will be created for the disintegration of Bosnia and Herzegovina. I
believe such integration should be peaceful. It is best for us all to work
together and live in peace without any rigid borders, to have a compatible
economic system and be politically sovereign in making all the important
decisions. Whether this will occur in 2035 or some time earlier is completely
irrelevant,” said Dodik commenting on a new map of Europe for the year 2035,
which was made by Russian experts, according to which Bosnia and Herzegovina
will be divided between Serbia and Croatia.
He asserted that regardless of the
economic troubles in the EU and the region, the Republic of Srpska would
succeed in having a positive GDP growth rate in 2013, and stressed a series of
contracted business deals and investments totalling €2.9 billion.
Serbia is the Republic of Srpska’s
biggest partner in foreign trade and its market is important to us, said Dodik.
”We’ve already implemented several
infrastructure projects together. We should talk about how to create a
compatible market, including financial support that would be used for joint
projects,” he said.
Srpska President emphasised that the
Republic of Srpska would respect Serbia’s official politics, asserting that
Serbia should have demanded the partition of Kosovo more adamantly.
”Now that there is the Platform on
Kosovo, we will observe it, no matter what we may think of it. The Republic of
Srpska will absolutely not allow the recognition of Kosovo by Bosnia and
Herzegovina. These are the two invariable features of our politics that we will
adhere to,” said Dodik.
He commended the encouragement of
Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić to the fight against organised
crime and corruption.
