He explained that such joint projects pertain to the construction of hydro power plants on the upper Drina River, construction of a branch of the Southern Stream natural gas pipeline and the drafting of a joint Republika Srpska-Serbia power corporation strategy.
“Regarding financial cooperation, our governments need to review our operative ability to implement previously-agreed projects or redefine them and direct them to areas where the effects would be much more quickly felt,” added Dodik.
Dodik added that the crucial issue in agriculture is protection from flooding, especially along the Drina River so as to prevent the great damage caused by flooding, where regulation of the river banks in the lower course of the river must be a constituent part of energy projects.
Regarding the issue of citizenship, Dodik said that the pertinent legislation in Serbia is good though there are administrative procedures that must be streamlined so that Republika Srpska citizens might the more easily apply for Serbian citizenship.
“We concluded that Srpska must get involved in celebrating the [1700th] anniversary of the Milan Edict, and agreed that the programmes already drafted shall be accessible to Republika Srpska bodies as well,” said Dodik.
