Dodik: The Edict of Milan is proof that Christians still live in these parts

”Through centuries, the
Christians in these parts have gone through various difficult times and
always managed to get stronger than before,” Dodik stated in Nevesinje
where the great jubilee is being marked.

Following a divine liturgy, His Eminence Hrizostom, Bishop of
Zvornik and Tuzla stated that the Serbs can help themselves only if they
truly believe in God and all his virtues.

”The Serb people carelessly brought its biological existence in question,” said Bishop Hrizostom.

Talking about the historical importance of the Edict of Milan,
Bishop Hrizostom said that the Serbs inherited the legacy of the
homeland of Emperor Constantine.
Govoreći o istorijskom značaju Milanskog edikta, vladika je naveo da srpski narod baštini nasljeđe otadžbine cara Konstantina.

”Emperor Constantine proved that we have the right to defend
ourselves, to fight incessantly and repeatedly for our right to
determination, freedom of living and believing, and that no one can take
away what has belonged to us for centuries,” said Bishop Hrizostom.

His Eminence Grigorije, Bishop of Zahum-Herzegovina and the Littoral
said that today was the day of reconstruction and that, as part of the
ceremony in Nevesinje, there will be talk of the ways to put in working
order the local hospital whose sponsor was Mihailo Labalo, and the
possibilities of opening a new factory that would be started up by
Rodoljub Drašković.

Following a divine liturgy, a one-act play “Nevesinjsko
Konstantinie” was performed, which symbolically described the act of
signing of the Edict of Milan.

In the scope of the main event observing 1700 years of the adoption
of the Edict of Milan in the Republic of Srpska, a donors lunch will be
organised to raise funds for the Saint Vukašin Foundation which helps
families with three or more children, for the construction of a memorial
church of the Ascension of Our Lord in Pribilovci, and for a day-care
centre for children with special needs “Moja nada” in Nevesinje.

Retired Bishop Atanasije was the first one to give a donation for the Saint Vukašin Foundation.
