The fact corroborating this claim is that Safet Durguti, a lecturer
at the Travnik madrasah, has been teaching for years without being
subjected to any security checks, even though he was on the list of the
UN Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee due to his connections
with terrorism, Galijašević has told Srna.
Durguti was not allowed entrance to Croatia at the Slavonski Brod border crossing on Friday. He was planning to go to Germany.
He was accompanied by Nusret Avdibegović, the Mufti of Travnik and
member of the Rijaset (leadership) of the Islamic Community in Bosnia
and Herzegovina, and Dževdet Šošiću, head of Elči Ibrahim Pasha’s
Madrasah of Travnik, who were allowed to continue their journey after
being held at the border for four hours.
Durguti is head of Vezir organisation, a branch of the banned Al
Haramein Charity Organisation. The UN Security Council’s latest,
consolidated list contains the names of four BiH organisations brought
in connection with terrorism, including Al Haramein – Vezir, which was
seated in Travnik.
”Safet Durguti comes from Kosovo. He was born in Orahovac and has
been compromising Bosnia and Herzegovina for 10 years now, for Bosnia
doesn’t have an answer to his activities. It is more than obvious that
BiH security agencies have not reacted to all this at all since he’s
been able to maintain normal communication with terrorists all this
time,” Galijašević claims.
He recalls that Egyptian Emad Al masri also is from Travnik, who
spent nine years in jail and then came back and continued to work in the
area without hindrance.
The first person to point to the network of Islamists (Mujahideen)
in Bosnia and Herzegovina was Travnik Mufti Avdibegović, who made a
diagram with names and titles of charity organisations through which
they operate and communicate.
The data, which were collected during the 1990s war for the military
and intelligence service of Alija Izetbegović, later became a source of
locating the terrorist threat coming from the area of the entire Bosnia
and Herzegovina, whose seat was in Travnik.
Srna got hold of the diagram, which Avdibegović made himself. NATO
has used the document to investigate the activities of Islamists.
On the basis of Avdibegović’s diagram, the Alliance created an
overview of hierarchical relations in Operation Vazal (Vassal), with Abu
Mali Hassan cited as the religious leader of El Mujahid unit.
NATO gives the names of his assistants, member of El Mujahid
command, persons he was in touch with, and sponsors of the unit which
committed heinous crimes against Serbs in the Bosnian war.
“This also proves that the Islamic Community in BiH is deeply
criminalised due to the relations of its top officials with persons
associated with terrorism,” Galijašević says.
The Wahhabi movement in BiH today is comprised of the remnants of
the Mujahideen movement originating from the war, parts of the active
Islamic youth divided into numerous charity and non-governmental
organisations, and the Wahhabi part located in remote settlements.
”These three segments nowadays have more than 120,000 participants
and members of the movement, which equals six per cent of the entire
Muslim population in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Galijašević claims.
He underlines that the public debate of the Wahhabi leaders from
Gornja Maoča, Nusret Imamović and Bilal Bosnić, which has been announced
to take place in Tuzla, also shows that they are working unimpeded,
particularly because they can publicly speak about the advantages of
Sharia law and fatality of democracy.
”Their going to Tuzla is also a message that the Party of Democratic
Action (SDA), whose product they are, will be present in the public
even when they are no longer in the government, and we must fear such
people,” he notes.
”The SDA is the source of terrorist and every other threat to the
citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and that’s why it should be banned by
law.
”Since Imamović is allowed to do whatever he wants and send
inflammatory Islamist messages at that, it is obvious that Sarajevo
politicians stand behind him and that he is part of a wider terrorist
network,” Galijašević states.
Another example of Imamović’s autocracy is the foundation of the Cer
illegal cemetery (mezarje), where Wahhabi Admir Ćehajić was buried
after the Wahhabis of Gornja Maoča tried to “exorcise the devil” from
him, according to the family’s testimony.
”A primitive method typical of pre-Islamic Saudi Arabia, carried out
by some religion scholars, is in question here. The result was the
death, and the police and prosecutors need to investigate it.
“No one can be buried without any findings from a doctor as to the
cause of their death. Autopsy has to be performed in order to establish
how a person died,” Galijašević said.
