“Today we will have a meeting with all political
structures from the Kosovo north. We are to define a day of this week
when we will form an assembly of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and
Metohija and transfer the competences of the state of Serbia to the
assembly. That is our constitutional right,” said Jakšić.
He noted that they launched the procedure of assessing the
constitutionality and legality of the Brussels agreement. “We remain
defenders of the constitution. We’ve launched the procure on the
assessment of constitutionality and legality of the Brussels agreement
and until the Constitutional Court states its opinion, we will keep
doing things the way we interpret the Constitution and constitutionality
of the Brussels agreement,” he said.
According to Jakšić, the Serbian Government Sunday’s decision has
smothered the guarantees First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić
was giving to the people over the past couple of days, like the
statement that the Serbs would keep their personal identity documents
and that university and school diplomas would carry the stamp of Serbia.
”That doesn’t exist any more and that’s why it is my opinion, and I
believe that a large majority of Kosovo Serb agree with me, that the
Brussels agreement is unalterable, as is the Sunday’s decision, and that
they won’t find any Serbs among us who accept the agreement
implementation and the implementation plan,” added Jakšić.
The Serbian Government adopted late on Sunday the plan of the
Brussels agreement implementation, and Prime Minister Ivica Dačić
informed EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy
Catherine Ashton of the decision.
Late on Sunday, the Government adopted the plan of the application
of the First agreement of principles governing the normalisation of
relations, the official title of the agreement reached in Brussels, as a
document "that does not prejudice the status of Kosovo and Metohija".
