Serb
representatives said that they stimulate the state leadership to remain true to
the offered Platform on Kossovo and Metohija and not change it.
The
conclusions from today’s meeting of local councillors will be sent to Serbian President
Tomislav Nikolic.
The Serb
representatives supported the position that the Serbian Government should not
continue reaching partial agreements with Pristina since they only lead to
changing the situation in the field to the benefit of institutions of the
self-proclaimed Republic of Kossovo.
The
councillors also supported the position that “nothing has been agreed until
everything is agreed.”
The
position in the Platform that Serbs South of the Ibar River and North of it are
treated equally was particularly supported.
They insist
that the Platform pay full attention to the return of 250,000 Serbs displaced
from Kossovo.
They also
demand that the Platform point out that Kossovo and Metohija is a constituent
part of Serbia, and that the harmonised wording of the Platform be adopted by
the Serbian Parliament as an obligatory document.
The Serb
representatives demand that the Platform be adopted by the Serbian Parliament
as soon as possible.
Today’s
session was attended by the councillors of four Serbian Municipalities in
northern Kossovo – Zubin Potok, Kosovska Mitrovica, Zvecan and Leposavic – the
presidents of Serbian Municipalities South of the Ibar River, the coordinators
of Serbian Municipalities South of the Ibar River, representatives of the
Serbian Orthodox Church and associations of families of missing and kidnapped
persons.
