RS: Six new ministers

Following a meeting of the Executive Board of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) held on Friday, Cvijanović said the party body unanimously supported the proposed programme and staff of the new Cabinet, but that, she would not announce the names of the future ministers until the parliament session, which is supposed to take place in 10 days or so.
”The names have been agreed. We took into account all the criteria, including regional representation,” she said.

Ms Cvijanović announced consultations with coalition partners for
next week, saying that in case of new ministers, consultations will be
held together with the prime minister-designate, as well as the outgoing
and incoming ministers.

The Prime Minister-designate stated she would do all it takes to
head the new Cabinet appropriately and efficiently, asserting that she
was aware of the difficult task and responsibility ahead, as well as of
the fact that institutions were above individuals.

”We shouldn’t have any dilemma about the work of the future Cabinet
when it comes to the constitutional position of the Republic of Srpska
and the way we ought to behave in all international exchanges and
activities concerning the process of European integration.

”The special topic in the forthcoming days will be the way the
Cabinet will combine the measures demanded by the present time, and the
way to go beyond the traditional planning methods,” she said.

Cvijanović expressed satisfaction with the fact she is the first woman in the RS history to head the government.

”I am aware that we are instituting a new practice of making changes
every time we decide change is necessary, and every time we assess that
somebody on this team has got tired, we must be very brave to replace
people, including those who are at the top,” she said.

The SNSD Executive Board approved Friday the new composition and
main programme of the new RS Cabinet, upon the proposal of Prime
Minister-designate Željka Cvijanović.

They voiced support to the activities of the party leader and RS President Milorad Dodik and the current leadership.

The Board encouraged the changes within the Cabinet and appointment of Cvijanović as the leader of the new Cabinet.

On Wednesday, February 27, the RS Cabinet tendered a unanimous
resignation upon the suggestion of the prime minister and at the request
of the RS president.

The National Assembly accepted the resignation by 63 votes to two,
with four abstentions at a special session held on the same day.
