Vlajki believes that by saying that
film director Emir Kusturica is a traitor of his people, Izetbegović
acted solely as a representative of his own people who has something
against one of his former fellow-nationals.
As a member of the highest political body in Bosnia and Herzegovina,
Izetbegović didn’t take into account the interests of BiH that would be
strengthened, given Kusturica’s reputation in the world, said Vlajki.
“The Dayton reality is based on the Bosniak-Croat-Serb relations and
can only change through evolution. It can’t be changed in any other
way, neither with decrees nor with forced unitarisation,” said Vlajki.
Vlajki recalls that his office presented a theory on the historical
compromise in BiH on several occasions, of which some important foreign
officials were informed in direct contacts, who found it extremely
uninteresting.
“Representatives of the three constituent peoples in BiH should sit
down without any foreign interference and tell each other, without
insulting or labelling anyone, what each of them want and find a
compromise about it,” believes Vlajki.
Representatives of the three constituent peoples in BiH should
specify common projects, especially in the area of economy and social
affairs, that would be useful for the country’s progress and they should
gradually start building a new unity, based on equality of the three
ethnic communities, says Vlajki.
“Nobody wants to see BiH fragmented at any cost. In a century
characterised by the creation of mega political and economic
communities, such fragmentation would be madness,” he said.
Vlajki notes that no people can be forced to live with other nations
when their “nose is constantly rubbed in being a Chetnik-genocidal,
Jamahiriyan-terrorist and Ustasha people.”
“Let’s finally break from the ethnic-feudal frame, let’s get rid of
hate speech and move towards the 21st century, where politics is the
servant of economy, and not vice versa, like the situation is in our
country,” stated Vlajki.
Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency Bakir Izetbegović stated
Wednesday in Zvornik that filmmaker Emir Kusturica would not get the
weapons and equipment from the State Armed Forces for the shooting of
his “Along the Milky Way,” accusing him of being a traitor of the
Bosniak people.
