Nikolic: There are no obstacles to intensifying cooperation

Noting that at the end of the year,
the results are being summed up of what has been and has not been done in
mutual cooperation between Serbia and Republika Srpska, Nikolic said that they
concluded at the meeting today that there are issues where results not good
enough or clear enough were achieved.

“We agreed to intensify the resolution
of these issues next year since there is no reason for Serbia and Republika
Srpska not to intensify their cooperation,” Nikolic said.

The Serbian President said that
foundations are being sought in the Special and Parallel Ties Agreement for
better cooperation, joint access to other markets, joint production, and
organising things to such a degree that firms, especially public ones which
supply the citizenry, can function as though they were in one country.

“It cannot happen that Serbia has
power surpluses and Republika Srpska has no power, or that Republika Srpska has
oil surpluses and Serbia has not. We will do many things with more sincerity
and seriousness than before,” Nikolic said.

He said that “Serbia has no censorship
regarding cooperation with any state in the world, particularly not with
Republika Srpska.”

“All agreements will be fulfilled,
since thus not only will we improve relations with Republika Srpska but we will
build Serbia, where many citizens of Republika Srpska live with no defined
status,” Nikolic said.

He said that Serbia is open for
cooperation with Srpska, which will continue next year as well.

“This was a difficult year behind us,
but I hope that it was a year of much better and more sincere cooperation. I
believe that Serbia and Republika Srpska have serious people who know that
their primary task is to enable Serbian and Republika Srpska citizens to live
better,” Nikolic said.

The 5th session of the Republika
Srpska-Serbia Cooperation Council was held today in Banjaluka. Serbian
President Tomislav Nikolic, Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik and Prime
Ministers Aleksandar Dzombic and Ivica Dacic with associates also attended the
session.

Activities in implementing the Special
Parallel Ties Agreement between Serbia and Srpska and plans for future
cooperation were analysed at the session.
