“We want to implement what is demanded by
the Sejdić-Finci ruling, and that means to eradicate discrimination, and
we have proposed a solution for that. The ruling does not deal with a
method for elections or competences of the BiH Presidency, so we won’t
either,” Dodik told the press in Sarajevo on Thursday.
Dodik said the Republic of Srpska would accept any solution
regarding the election of the member of the BiH Presidency from the
Federation of BiH that would be agreed in that Entity, but would not
like to see any solutions imposed on it by anyone.
Commenting on the EU proposal to introduce 10 electoral units in the
Federation of BiH and one electoral unit in the RS, SDP leader Zlatko
Lagumdžija said it was just one of the models proposed by the EU.
According to him, the EU Delegation to BiH presented to the SDP
several possible models as the basis upon which the implementation
European court of Human Right’s ruling in the case of Sedjić-Finci vs.
BiH would be discussed further.
